NCOA’s legislative agenda is determined by the following Resolutions, which are submitted and voted upon by the general membership every year at the National Convention. Once the Resolutions package has been approved, copies are provided to NCOA’s various legislative and departmental contacts.

Any member may submit a resolution for consideration, as long as the proposed resolution is in the same format as the current resolutions and is written in such a way that it will benefit the largest population of NCOA’s membership. While specific personal issues may be addressed on a case-by-case basis, NCOA’s official resolutions must be intended to benefit more than one person.

In addition to submitting resolutions, members also have the opportunity to serve on the Resolutions Committee, which is the working group made up entirely of NCOA members that reviews and finalizes the resolutions package before the general membership votes on it.

If you would like to submit, amend, or request repeal of a resolution, you must do so by May 1 of each calendar year. Please check the NCOA Journal and NCOA News Briefs for more specific deadlines or changes. You can submit your resolution to NCOA’s National Capital Office (NATCO) by e-mail at legislat@ncoadc.org, by mail at 610 Madison Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, or by fax at 703-549-0245. You may also submit an official letter of request for a position on the Resolutions Committee by the same means; however, to be eligible you must plan to attend the National Convention.
