What is the NCOA?
The Non Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA) is a federally-chartered, nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of Enlisted personnel, Veterans, and their families. We represent Enlisted Service Members from all branches of the Military, ensuring their voices are heard and their benefits are secured.
What Does it Mean to Be Federally-Chartered?
Being federally chartered means that the NCOA is officially recognized by the U.S. government to represent the interests of Enlisted Service Members, Veterans, and their families. We are one of only about 92 federally chartered nonprofits recognized in Title 36, Subtitle II, of the U.S. Code. This status gives us a unique responsibility to advocate for legislative changes and work directly with government agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, to ensure that the needs and rights of our members are met. Our federal charter ensures that we are a trusted, official voice in matters concerning military personnel, their families, and Veterans’ benefits.
