The Air Academy NCOA had the privilege of presenting Vietnam War Medallions to 14 veterans representing four branches of the U.S. military last weekend. Medallion honorees included:
- Mr. Jack Artman, Captain (ret.), USAF - Electronic Warfare Officer - Sir Abe Braverman, Master Sergeant (ret.), USAF - Inventory Management Specialist - Mr. James Darnley, Jr., veteran, USMC - Classified Documents and Crypto Key Custodian - Mr. Charles Dietz, Master Sergeant (ret.), USA - 10th Transportation Company, 7th Transportation Battalion - Mr. Richard Elliot, veteran, USN - Aviation Electronics Technician, USS Bennington - Mr. David Gilbert, veteran, USAF - Munitions Specialist - Mr. Charles Nathan, Captain (ret.), USA - Company Commander, 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment - Mr. Gennaro Occhiuzzo, Chief Warrant Officer (ret.), USA - Military Assistance Command, Vietnam *award accepted by Mr. Rob Sweatman on behalf of Mr. Occhiuzzo * - Mr. Arthur Rhyne, Sr., Master Sergeant (ret.), USAF - Flight Engineer, C-123 Aircraft - Mr. Michael Romans, Major (ret.), USA - Veterinarian - Mr. Thomas Towles, Technical Sergeant (ret.), USAF - Overseas Switchboard Center Operator - Sir Marvin Weaver, Master Sergeant (ret.), USAF - Facilities Maintenance Technician - Mr. Craig Wisniewski, Sergeant Major (ret.), USA - Military Assistance Command, Vietnam - Mr. William Worthington, veteran, USN - Boiler Technician, USS O'Callahan These individuals each played an important role in the American campaign during the Vietnam War and their efforts and commitment to their nation cannot be overstated.
