This scholarship was developed in partnership between NCOA and Columbia Southern University to provide educational opportunities and to give back to those who give so much. This scholarship covers tuition up to 60 semester hours, or the first credential obtained [associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree]. The scholarship application period will open on 01/02. Applications must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on 05/03. The selection process will complete on 06/07. Applications will be evaluated exclusively by executive staff members of Columbia Southern University and verified via NCOA. Notification of selection will be made to the awardee within 7 business days upon completion of the selection process and verification by all parties that the awardee is eligible to receive the scholarship. Nick Marigo of Santa Rosa, CA - attending Santa Rosa Junior College Jozlynn Reyes of Marion, IN - attending Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame Hannah Scott of Tualatin, OR - attending Portland Community College The Bettsy Ross Educational Fund was established in 1988 and is one more good reason for being a member of the NCOA Auxiliary. The Non Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA), a Military Service Organization (MSO), was created in 1960 to address quality of life issues for enlisted members of our Active, Reserve, National Guard, Retired, and Veteran members of all branches of the Armed Forces as well as their families. As we have evolved, education, work force development, employment, legislative advocacy and the quality of life within our communities as well as the physical and mental health of our enlisted service men and women and their families have become our primary aim. Two Auxiliary members, Ava Newbury of Oregon City, OR, and Megan Ytzen of Colorado Springs, CO, were awarded Bettsy Ross Education Fund grants during the first quarter of 2022.

PETTABLE has announced a new scholarship for military veterans struggling with student debt and mental health issues. They are awarding $5,000 through their Pettable Vet Student Debt Grant, as well as free emotional support animal consultation through a licensed mental health professional to a deserving veteran.

The Bettsy Ross Educational Fund was established in July 1988 to assist NCOA International Auxiliary Division members wishing to prepare themselves for employment or improve on employable skills. Bettsy Ross Grants are designed to help defray the cost of attending an accredited college or technical school.
