On December 7, 2023, during the Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony conducted by American Legion Post 265, Onslow County Commissioner Walter Scott presented the NCOA Down East Chapter Vice Chairman Sir Paul Siverson with a Proclamation that recognized November as "Veterans Recognition Month 2023".
