The Rogue Chapter from the... The Rogue Chapter from the Medford, Oregon area held their first annual Rogue Valley Veterun on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Approximately 100 runners of all ages showed up to help make the event a huge success. More than $7,000 was raised for charities that support vets. At set-up time it was 32 degrees but dry. By race time, all of the smiles (with a little help from the sun) had warmed the day into the 40s. The charities the chapter supports range from a group that is building an 80% full replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC to Project 22 that works to curb the more than 22 veterans committing suicide every single day. The event hosted vets and non-vets of all ages, moms pushing strollers and kids running as families. The community support for vets was impressive! Rogue Chapter member Russ Schweikert helps get things set up for the Run. L-R – Terry Haines, Ron Kohl, Justin Maloney, Bob Turk, and Bud Cordes. Bud Clardy – oldest participant! The event saw a lot of serious runners and some just along for the ride! Nearing the finish line!
